Hamas observes World Children’s Day, demanding the prosecution of occupation leaders for crimes against Palestinian children

Hamas, marking World Children’s Day, demanded prosecution of occupation leaders for crimes against Palestinian children, highlighting UN World Children’s Day against a backdrop of ongoing violence, torture, starvation, and denial of education by Israeli occupation forces.

The resistance stressed that the two-year war on Gaza has resulted in over 20,000 children killed, thousands missing, more than 30,000 children orphaned, and many wounded or sick children needing urgent medical treatment abroad.

Hamas further noted the suffering of Palestinian children in the West Bank as they witness deliberate killings, ethnic cleansing, home demolitions, road and school closures, and displacement attempts.

“On this day, we pay tribute to the martyr children of Palestine and call for the following to expose the occupation’s crimes against Palestinian children, put the international community on notice of its responsibility to protect them, and ensure their right to dignified living conditions,” emphasised Hamas.

“This World Children’s Day, let us listen to children. And let us amplify their voices as they stand up for their rights,” echoed UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
