The talks have come under renewed scrutiny following comments by Nickolay Mladenov, the high representative of the so-called “Board of Peace”, who reportedly insisted that not a single bullet should remain in Gaza as part of a comprehensive ceasefire agreement.
Among the demands reportedly being advanced by a body overseeing US President Donald Trump’s Gaza initiative are the complete disarmament of Hamas, the surrender of maps detailing Gaza’s tunnel network, and the handover of weapons held by private Palestinian citizens.
