Two child rape cases heard in WC courts

LOCAL

Protestors are expected to gather outside the Goodwood Magistrate court on Thursday morning to demand that bail be denied to an alleged child rapist.

It follows the recent arrest of a suspect in connection to an assault on a 13 year old girl from Elsies River.

Meanwhile, the Cape Town High Court will today sentence convicted murderer, Jacobus Petoors. The 55-year-old entered into a plea agreement with the State for the kidnapping, raping, and murdering of eight-year-old Reagan Gertse in Tulbagh.

National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila says the state wants Petoors to spend his life behind bars.
