South Africa’s health department has recorded 7 216 new covid-19 cases and a further 25 covid-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours.
According to the NICD, more than 280 patients were hospitalized overnight. The department says majority of new cases today are from KwaZulu-Natal at 28%, followed by Western Cape with 25%.
The country is host to over 199 300 active cases. The recovery rate stands at 91.5 percent.
