UWC to hold meetings on way forward

The University of the Western Cape will hold a series of meetings on Monday to discuss the way forward relating to ongoing fees protests.

Management and students are scheduled to hold dialogues to address various issues. Other universities in the province are planning to have academic activities on Monday.

UWC says it has dedicated Monday for talks between student organisations, its executive and staff.

Classes were suspended at the institution over the past few weeks.

The Cape Peninsula University of Technology will meanwhile move its administrative operations to the Wingfield Military Base in Goodwood to ensure minimal disruptions.

This after buildings were set alight in the past week and two security guards locked inside a burning building.

The University of Cape Town has announced that classes will resume on Monday. According to its time table, the academic programme will end on November 2 with final examinations commencing on the seventh.

Classes at Stellenbosch University are also set to continue.
