The Knesset’s National Security Committee passes a bill authorizing the execution of Palestinian prisoners

Hamas characterized the approval by the Knesset’s National Security Committee of a bill authorizing the execution of Palestinian prisoners, and its referral for voting in the Knesset, as evidence of what it described as the “ugly fascist face” of the Zionist occupation and a further demonstration of the occupation’s violation of international laws.

This statement was issued by the Palestinian resistance group Hamas, which denounced the Israeli Knesset’s approval of the first reading of a law imposing the death penalty on Palestinian detainees.

According to the Palestinian media reports, the bill passed the National Security Committee’s first reading and is expected to go to a plenary vote in the Knesset on Wednesday.

“We demand that the United Nations (UN), the international community, and relevant rights groups take urgent action to halt this brutal crime, and form international committees to enter the detention facilities, inspect the conditions of Palestinian prisoners, and expose the atrocities committed there,” appealed Hamas.

“We urge immediate work to secure their release, especially in light of the leaks documenting horrific violations against them, and following the exposure of the torture and rape video from the fascist Sde Teiman detention facility,” reiterated the resistance.
