The Fisher's Movement for Change held a protest at Hout Bay Harbour on Monday, urging the Minister of Forestry, Fisheries, and the Environment, Dion George, to address irregularities within the fishing industry. This protest follows the organisation’s ongoing attempts to communicate its demands regarding the crisis facing fisheries. VOC became the first Muslim radio station in South Africa when a special events license was granted to the station in Ramadan/January 1995. Subsequent temporary broadcast licenses were granted, permitting the station to broadcast for 24 hours.
