Bodies of adult, minor discovered in Blackheath fire

Two people have died in Blackheath when an informal structure caught alight early this (Monday) morning. Cape Town Fire spokesperson, Jermaine Carelse, says the bodies of an adult and child were burnt beyond recognition in Omo Court in Wimbledon when they arrived on the scene. The cause of the blaze is unknown and police are investigating the incident. Source: SABC

Seven die as train hits bakkie at crossing

Seven people were killed when a train collided with a bakkie at a level crossing in Cape Town early on Friday. The force of the impact destroyed part of the vehicle at the crossing in Blackheath. Metrorail initially attributed the crash to "human error".
