According to reports, an Israeli airstrike on Syria’s Aleppo airport resulted in some “material damage,” marking the facility’s second attack this month.
However, the defense ministry claimed early on Wednesday in a post on Facebook that Israel launched “a number of missiles from the Mediterranean Sea, west of coastal city of Latakia, at 3:55 am” making it the third strike on Aleppo International Airport in six months.
Furthermore, an anonymous military official quoted by the Syrian state news agency SANA, reports that the strike did not result in any deaths or injuries. According to the report, Israeli airplanes fired the missiles while flying over the Mediterranean toward Aleppo, Syria’s largest city and formerly its commercial hub, according to the Associated Press.
According to the Reuters news agency, the Israeli military declined to comment on the most recent incident.
