Cape cops bust fake brand clothing factory

A large consignment of fake branded clothingwas found at a factory in Observatory, Cape Town, according to the Western Cape police.

Using a search warrant, members of the provincial Hawks confiscated 26 bags of counterfeit clothing, “worth a substantial amount”, at the Scott Road warehouse, stated the police’s Facebook page.

Some of the clothing had tagged branded labels.

Officers also seized 16 over-locker machines.

According to the post, the factory employed around 42 workers a day.

Arrests for contravening the counterfeit goods act might be made depending on the outcome of the investigation.
