Hamas: “We welcome any step that supports efforts to stop the aggression on our people and confirms readiness to immediately sit at the negotiating table”

“We received some ideas from the American side through mediators to reach a ceasefire agreement. Accordingly, we welcome any step that supports efforts to stop the aggression on our people and confirms readiness to immediately sit at the negotiating table to discuss the release of all prisoners in exchange for a clear declaration ending the war and a complete withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Gaza Strip.”

This is according to the Palestinian resistance group Hamas. The statement follows negotiation talks between Hamas, Israel, and the United States.

Hamas further expressed its conditions for forming a committee of independent Palestinians to run the Gaza Strip and start work immediately.

“This must be accompanied by a public and explicit commitment from the enemy to adhere to any agreed-upon terms, to prevent repetition of past experiences where agreements were reached but later rejected or overturned,” Hamas stated.

“This includes the most recent agreement presented to the Movement by mediators based on an American proposal, which Hamas accepted in Cairo on August 18, 2025. The occupation has not responded so far but continues its massacres and ethnic cleansing campaign,” the resistance added.

The group confirmed it remains in constant contact with mediators to develop these ideas into a comprehensive agreement that meets the demands of the Palestinian people.
