No action has been taken against the people involved in putting up both the “Zuma must fall” banner and the South African flag on a Cape Town building.

This is according to Cape Town Mayor Patricia de Lille, who said on Monday that the legal team was still dealing with it.

The large banner was put up in the Cape Town CBD earlier this month.

It hugged one side of a block of flats at the top of Long Street, on the corner of Kloof and Buitensingel streets.

It was removed a day later by ANC supporters and members, who used knives and various sharp objects to tear it down.

Meanwhile, DA leader Mmusi Maimane condemned the vandalism of their jobs banner in Johannesburg.

The banner, which was erected in Johannesburg earlier this month at the launch of the party’s jobs campaign, has been vandalised and destroyed.

He said they were struggling to find out who was involved.

“To those who took down the banner, criminal action must be taken because that’s vandalising other people’s property.” News24
