Turkey train crash: Toll jumps to 24 in Tekirdag derailment

Twenty-four people were killed when a train derailed in northwest Turkey this weekend, Deputy Prime Minister Recep Akdag said on Monday, a sharp jump from the previous toll of 10. Seven die as train hits bakkie at crossing

Seven people were killed when a train collided with a bakkie at a level crossing in Cape Town early on Friday. The force of the impact destroyed part of the vehicle at the crossing in Blackheath. Unite Behind protest CT’s bad train service

The South African activist group United Behind, protested against the Cape Town Metrorail train services on Tuesday. Young men in Cape Town risk their lives by “train surfing”.

Ricardo Afrika photographed and filmed train surfers by sticking his cellphone camera out of a broken window on Metrorail’s central line, GroundUp reported. Train surfers stand outside a train, either on the side or on the top, while a train is moving. They perform stunts, such as dodging the overhead lines. It is extremely dangerous and illegal.
