Rivonia Trialist Andrew Mlangeni passes on

The last surviving Rivonia Trialist Andrew Mlangeni has passed on, at the age of 95.  Mlangeni, who turned 95 on 6 June, was admitted to 1 Military Hospital in Thaba Tshwane, Pretoria, on Tuesday, 14 July, following an abdominal complaint. Mlangeni who spent more than 20 years on Robben Island after his conviction at the Treason Trial in 1964. SleepOut trustees apologise for Mandela’s cell auction poster

The trustees of the CEO SleepOut have apologised "if they offended anyone" after a poster was circulated on social media, stating that former president Nelson Mandela's cell on Robben Island would be auctioned for the event. Former Robben Islander Laloo Chiba passes away

Former Robben Island prisoner, Laloo Chiba (87), has passed away just a short while ago.  Chiba had a mild heart attack a few days ago and was hospitalised. He was discharged this week and passed away at his home in Lenasia. SA politicians to join solidarity hunger strike

Kathrada in high spirits following operation

ANC struggle veteran Ahmed Kathrada is in “high spirits” as he recovers after a surgery relating to blood clotting on the brain.
