N2 Road between East London and Qonce closed due to poor visibility

The N2 between East London and Qonce in the Eastern Cape is temporarily closed due to poor visibility. There is smoke coming from a veld fire close by. The authorities have advised motorists travelling from Qonce to take the R102 to East London while those from East London are advised to take the R102 at the Amalinda turnoff. Rammed cash-in-transit van bursts into flames on N2 in Eastern Cape

The N2 has been closed between Blaney and Breidbach in the Eastern Cape after an attempted cash-in-transit robbery. It appears the cash transporter was rammed by robbers in a luxury sedan. N2 closed due to protest action in Cape Town

The N2 highway near the R102 in Macassar, Cape Town was closed on Monday morning due to protest action. Protesters barricaded the road with burning tyres, senior Cape Town traffic officer Richard Coleman said. Coleman said community members started protesting for service delivery since 05:30. A pedestrian has died after crossing the N2 near the Mew Way exit near Khayelitsha. City traffic spokesperson, Maxine Bezuidenhout, says the deceased is believed to be about 35 years old.
