SA Reserve Bank expected to keep interest rates unchanged

The Reserve Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) is expected to keep the repo rate unchanged at 3.5%. The decision will be made public on Thursday afternoon at the conclusion of the committee’s three-day meeting. May’s Consumer Price Inflation accelerates to 5.2%

Figures released by Statistics South Africa show that the Consumer Price Inflation rate has accelerated to 5.2% in May from 4.4% in April. The statistics agency notes that this is the highest reading since November 2018.
