Panayiotou’s leave to appeal application dismissed

Christopher Panayiotou's application for leave to appeal his conviction was dismissed in the Eastern Cape High Court in Port Elizabeth on Thursday. Panayiotou was found guilty of murder in November last year and was sentenced to life for orchestrating the killing of his wife, Jayde. Video recording ruled admissible in Panayiotou murder trial

A video recording in which Christopher Panayiotou allegedly implicated himself in his wife’s murder, was ruled admissible by Judge Dayalin Chetty in the Port Elizabeth High Court on Monday. The trial-within-a-trial dealt with the admissibility of an undercover police sting operation where the businessman allegedly implicated himself in his wife Jayde’s murder.
