NSFAS to disburse outstanding student allowances tomorrow

The National Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) says it will start to disburse outstanding student allowances tomorrow. NSFAS has given the assurance that the dissolution of its Board will not affect its payment of allowances to students. This comes after Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande put the scheme under administration and dissolved its Board on Thursday. NSFAS to investigate students’ complaints about its system

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) says an investigation into students’ complaints will be conducted and where the allegations are proved to be true, appropriate action will be taken. It says service providers will be instructed to increase their presence at institutions of higher learning so that they can respond directly to students’ queries on direct payments.
