More than 80 000 applications received for 2026 academic year

The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) has confirmed that more than 80,000 applications for the 2026 academic year have been received since the online portal opened on 11 March 2025. VOC became the first Muslim radio station in South Africa when a special events license was granted to the station in Ramadan/January 1995. Subsequent temporary broadcast licenses were granted, permitting the station to broadcast for 24 hours.
