Heatstroke warning for pilgrims

The Ministry of Haj has warned pilgrims against the dangers of being exposed to sun especially during midday and in a crowd, saying that it could lead to heatstroke. It also urged pilgrims to use umbrellas and masks as part of precautionary measures, the Saudi Press Agency reported. 

According to the forecast of the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment, Makkah recorded temperatures of 37 degree Celsius while Arafat registered 34 and Mina and Muzdalifah 33. The sky was cloudy in Mina and Muzdalifah, and partially cloudy in Makkah on Thursday. 
 
The ministry called on the pilgrims to have full awareness about the address or contact number of their service providing firm and location of tents. The Ministry of Health has mobilized a total of 22,800 staffers and 182 ambulances to serve the pilgrims. SAUDI GAZETTE
