Ses’khona People’s Rights Movement leader Andile Lile was shot in a drive by shooting in Khayelitsha late on Wednesday night. Lile apparently survived four shots to the stomach, allegedly by two assasins. He is in a serious yet stable condition at Tygerberg hospital. Police have not confirmed the incident.

Lili and fellow activist Loyiso Nkohla, the leader of the so-called “poo protestors” were both suspended from the ANC for their extreme action. They have led continuous service delivery protests against the Democratic Alliance-led Western Cape government.

Ses’khona says a planned protest in the city will go ahead today. The ANC this week issued a stern warning to Seskhona not to march. Ses’khona claims the ANC is trying to sabotage a partnership it has with Prasa, which will effectively create 25,000 jobs in the next five years.
