A busy road in Kuils River, Cape Town has been closed on Monday morning after an alleged shootingtook place near the station.
Nooiensfontein Road has been closed between Kuils River Station and the Danarand four-way stop following the reported shooting, Eyewitness News reported on Monday.
The exact cause and nature of the incident is still unclear at this point.
Eyewitness News reported that a Caltex garage close by was hit by armed robbers.
Other trains on the same Northern line have been delayed by up to 90 minutes due to a power signal failure at Kuils River station, Metrorail tweeted on Monday. It was not specified if the power signal failure is related to the shooting incident nearby.
