One of the five prisoners who escaped from the Lentegeur police cells at the weekend has been re-arrested, Western Cape police confirmed on Monday.
Police were still looking for the remaining four, Colonel André Traut said.
The five men, aged between 21 and 33, were in custody awaiting their first appearance in court when they escaped on Saturday.
The group were arrested for separate cases ranging from possession of drugs, robbery, theft of a motor vehicle and business robbery, said Traut.
Details on how they escaped were not provided. NEWS24
