Breytenbach’s case back in court

The case of DA Member of Parliament and former NPA senior prosecutor Glynnis Breytenbach and her lawyer Gerhard Wagenaar will resume in the Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday after it was postponed on Monday.

Integrity Management Unit acting senior manager Hercules Wasserman is expected to testify.

Breytenbach and Wagenaar are facing charges of defeating the ends of justice and contravening the National Prosecuting Authority Act.

They allegedly deleted files from Breytenbach’s official laptop which they refused to hand over in April 2012.

The case was postponed to allow State prosecutor Raymond Mathenjwa to source the certificate authorising him to prosecute in this matter.
