The body of a newborn baby boy was discovered in the bathroom of a mall in Somerset West on Friday morning, Western Cape police confirmed.
An inquest was opened after the gruesome discovery at 08:00, said Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut.
It is understood that a cleaner at Somerset Mall found the body inside a toilet.
