Excitement is mounting ahead of VOC’s Family Day at Ratanga Junction theme park, with listeners scrambling for last minute tickets. Amid queries of availability of tickets at Computicket, organisers have confirmed that the outlet has 500 tickets available for purchase.

VOC marketing manager Sukayna Johaardien says that while tickets are selling fast, avid listeners who haven’t yet purchased a ticket can also do so through Shoprite, Checkers or at the VOC studios in Salt River.  Rides, live entertainment, stalls and good food will ensure that anyone young or old has something to enjoy on the day.

“We are so excited for our first ever family day at Ratanga. We are hopeful that this time the weather will definitely be accommodating,” Johaardien said.

While the event was initially scheduled to take place on 18th December 2014, VOC management was forced to postpone it due to bad weather conditions.

Over 23 fun rides which include the popular Monkey Falls and Cobra roller-coaster, promises a day of thrills and excitement. However, there is even something for those less adrenalin enthused. The tea garden will offer a stage of live nasheed performers. The popular and much loved VOC presenters will also be entertaining the crowd with their charismatic personalities.

Some of the main events organised by VOC are the ‘Cook-Off’ competition’, VOC Nasheed competition, kiddies party and live entertainment at the stage area, including a bird show and magic show coordinated by Ratanga.

The gates will open at 9am while rides open at 10am. VOC will also be conducting a live outside broadcast from 7am, to gear up supporters as they make their way to the venue.

While food will be sold by Ratanga, Johaardien has assured that all food will be strictly halal. There will also be other stalls offering goods that everyone has come to enjoy at the annual VOC festivals.

“Our exhibitors will also be out there, showing off the latest goods and services that their businesses have to offer,” Johaardien added.
