Nineteen people have appeared in the Goodwood Magistrate’s court on charges of theft after a truck transporting frozen chicken was hijacked.
The suspects were arrested following the robbery of a cargo vehicle in Wynberg which was carrying frozen chicken worth more than R600 000.
Nine vehicles were also seized during the arrest and a firearm confiscated. NPA spokesperson, Eric Ntabazalila says the case has been postponed to next week for bail information.
The suspects remain in custody.
